Mother's Day Gift

Ever since we moved to Utah, I have been desperately missing the flower beds we had in our last home. I had my flower beds all figured out. Flowers just make me happy! I loved getting up early, while the dew was still on the leaves and flowers and weeding my flower beds. I loved to see how things would grow, replanting and finding out what worked, where and what didn't work. I didn't care for digging and dividing the perennials, but would enjoy sharing with my neighbors. I would sit out and enjoy the butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. I have been so sad for the past 2 years of not having this in my life. For Mother's Day, Ed built this retaining wall/flower bed for me in front of our house. I have planted it with perennials (salvia, delphinium, rock cress, blanket flowers) and a few annuals (lobelia, my favorite). I can't wait for it to take off. It's the best Mother's Day present. THANKS ED!!!

Mother's Day & The Jazz Playoffs

For Mom's Day, Ed and I went to the Jazz Game against the LA Lakers. It was so fun and so intense. We were excited because we had never been to a Playoff Game and you can definitely tell a difference in the energy. The Utah Jazz won, 123-115 in overtime.

12 going on 18!!!

Ryan straightened his hair for school one day, and we were so surpirised, he looks so different, so much older. We're not ready for the teenage years.

Scary Ghost

We have been working on getting our basement finished for almost 1 year. It's either time or money. Well, Ed has a little extra time and we're trying to save some money, so Ed sprayed the primer in the basement. This is what he looked like when he would come up from the basement. The boys and I got a kick out of this.

Salt Lake Marathon 2008

After Spring Break, we had to hurry back home to make it back in time for Ed's very 1st Marathon. We think it's pretty amazing. Although, I have to admit that the whole time he was training the boys and I kept razzing him by saying, "Cuckoo Cuckoo" and asking him, "Who in their right mind would want to run 26.2 miles?".

Here he is coming across the finish line at a finish time of 4:36:10

Angie's Baptism

The biggest reason we went to California for Spring Break was to attend my niece, Angelina's baptism. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, children are baptized at the age of eight. This was such a special day for Angie and we were so lucky to be a part of it. Here are some family pics of us with Angie and my parents with Angie.

Spring Break - Oceanside, California

We love Oceanside, it's one of our favorite Beaches in California. The boys had so much fun playing on the beach and water. It was a perfect day. Ryan and Ed were on the Boogey boards. Brennan played in the sand, collected shells and chased seagulls. Ed also went on a run, which he was really excited about and I sat my bottom on a blanket and read, went on a walk and collected stones. On the way home we stopped at Coldstone Creamery (yum!!). We love the ocean.

Spring Break Beauty

For Spring Break we headed for the Desert. The California Desert, where I grew up. These are some of the sites familiar to the Desert and the drive to California. We were so lucky that our drive coincided with the bloom of some Desert flowers.

Wind Farm in Palm Springs. This is a view that you always see in the movies when people refer to Palm Springs.
